They are printed on high quality 300 gsm cardstock with smooth finish. Decks are packaged in a sturdy (and green-friendly!) tinplate box which can double as a crystal case for all your witchy needs. Each motif—from the flashing sword to the gilded cup—has secrets to impart. The history of Tarot is equally shrouded in secrecy. Some claim that the first Tarot cards originated in Mamluk, Egypt. Others record the earliest usage of Tarot decks during the Italian Renaissance. Today, Tarot is used for both cartomancy and lighthearted enjoyment, even as it remains infused with the esoteric symbology of its past. Yet at its core is a deeply human message. The progression of cards from numbers one to seventy-eight mirrors the stages of life, depicting trials and triumphs that are nearly universal.
