+ It all started when I was asked to do a 2 of cups as a tattoo, drawing it in my style. I had such a fun time with that piece that I decided to draw the ever independent, Queen of Swords. Then it hit me, "Did I just start drawing my deck?" and like that for the next 2-3 weeks each night after work I was sketching, researching, sketching more and refining my ideas. Within 2 months, I had them all dialed in to what I liked; playful, fun yet still paying homage to the standing traditions of Tarot. Using classic symbolism that can be found in older decks, yet adding my twist. Then the task of applying color to make them come to life was underway... I must admit at first I was full wind in my sails, but then life starts happening and I stalled a little bit (insert henna journey!) Chipping away at a card here and there, it wasn't until I decided to take a social media break before the end of 2017 that I was able to color the last 40 cards within a week's time. I knew when the cards were meant to be finished they would, I was merely the conduit for their creation. I felt like what a marathoner must feel when the finish line is in sight! *Please note, that the cards are not labeled. I did this for a variety of reasons, but mostly because, I didn't want the names to take away from the card's full art work. The Major Arcana do have the numbers on them,as they were included in the design process, however the Minors do not.
